Rising Stars and Fierce Rivalries Set Stage for Historic Panas Malaysia Open 2025 Debut

Pickleball is making history in Asia as the Panas Malaysia Open 2025 gets ready to start. The tournament will take place from July 3 to July 6, 2025, at 9Pickle in Setia Alam, Malaysia. This event is the first-ever stop of the PPA Tour Asia.

Stars Lead Men’s and Women’s Brackets

Australia’s Andie Dikosavljevic will lead the Pro Women’s Singles draw. She won two singles gold medals this year on the Australian tour. She also took bronze at the PPA Tour Australia Pickleball Open. Many expect her to be the top contender in Malaysia.

China’s Yufei Long is another strong competitor. She recently won the PPA Challenger Baton Rouge title. Vietnam’s Ken Tam and Japan’s Rika Fujiwara are also aiming for big wins.

In the Pro Men’s Singles bracket, Wong Hong Kit of Hong Kong, China holds the top spot. He won singles titles at both the Gold Coast Slam and the Tweed Heads Cup. Wong Hong Kit also won his first Pro Men’s Doubles title with Kim Eunggwon. They will again play together in Malaysia.

Local Heroes Return Home

Fans in Malaysia will be cheering for Jimmy Liong and Mia Athilla. Both players trained in the United States for three months as part of the UPA Asia Trailblazers Program. Now, they are coming back with new skills and hope to perform well in front of home fans.

Doubles Draw Sparks New Rivalries

The Pro Women’s Doubles bracket brings extra excitement. Yufei Long and Jamie Wei, who upset Jorja Johnson and Lacy Schneemann in America, will now play against each other. Jamie Wei has teamed up with Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall from the United States. Yufei Long will partner with Kwon Mihae from Korea.

Pro Qualifying matches and amateur events will begin on Friday, July 3, 2025. All eyes will be on the finals, scheduled for Sunday, July 6, when champions will be crowned.
