New Jersey Masters Pickleball Tournament Promises Big Prizes, Perks, and Fierce Competition This July

New Jersey Masters Pickleball Tournament: The New Jersey Masters, hosted by the Amateur Pickleball Association, is scheduled for July 19–20, 2025, at Pickleball Kingdom in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. The tournament welcomes players of all ages and skill levels and offers a chance to compete in up to three events with prize money available in the open divisions.

Open to All Skill Levels With Cash Prizes

This event is open to all pickleball players ranging from 2.5 to 5.0 skill levels. Matches are divided first by skill and then by age, depending on total registrations. The Amateur Pickleball Association (APA) will use a round-robin format with most players expected to play between seven and nine matches during the weekend.

The tournament includes men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles, starting at 8:00 a.m. each day, and singles in the afternoons. Registration closes at 8:00 a.m. on July 16, 2025. Early bird fees are $75 for the first event, $55 for the second, and $35 for the third. Players must email the tournament director to get a discount code for the third event.

Game Format and Prize Details

Each team is guaranteed six matches. Doubles will follow a single-game round-robin format played to 11 points, win by two, with medal matches played best two out of three. Singles will be played using rally scoring to 21, win by two.

Cash prizes will be awarded in the open divisions regardless of age or skill level. In fully sold-out brackets of 14 teams, the prize distribution is as follows: Gold receives $1,000, Silver receives $600, and Bronze receives $400. The payouts are based on percentages—50% for first place, 30% for second, and 20% for third.

Player Perks and Rating Policy

The Amateur Pickleball Association’s PicklePerks system allows players to earn cash rewards for every registration and win. These earnings can be used toward future event fees or merchandise.

All players will be placed in their correct division based on their DUPR rating. Those with 25 or more rated games and a reliability score over 60% must play at their DUPR-rated level, regardless of other skill claims. The APA noted, “These posted expectations will be applied across the board to all players at all events.”

No Refunds But Credit Options Available

Once registration is complete and paid, no refunds will be offered. However, APA will issue full credits to players who withdraw more than two weeks before the event. In the event of bad weather canceling an outdoor event before any matches are played, participants will get a 50% credit.

Credits are also available if APA cannot find a partner for a player registered solo. Late registrants who cannot be added will also receive a credit. If players change partners within two weeks of the tournament, the original player will get a credit, minus a $15 fee, only if the new player registers and pays.

Importance of the Event

The New Jersey Masters offers more than just competitive play. It gives players a chance to improve their skills, compete in a welcoming setting, and earn real rewards. With nearly 150 events planned in 2025, the Amateur Pickleball Association continues to support growing interest in the sport across all levels.
