Fort Wayne Gold Cup Pickleball Tournament Promises Cash Prizes, Perks, and Fierce Competition This July

Fort Wayne Gold Cup Pickleball Tournament: The Fort Wayne Gold Cup will take place from July 19 to 20, 2025, at the Wildwood Racquet and Wellness Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Amateur Pickleball Association is organizing the event, which welcomes players of all skill levels and offers prize money, perks, and a guaranteed minimum of six games.

Event Format and Schedule

This pickleball tournament is open to players with skill levels from 2.5 to 5.0. Events will first be grouped by skill level and then by age, depending on the number of entries. The event format includes round-robin matches followed by brackets, with most players competing in 7–9 games.

Doubles matches will be held on Saturday starting at 8:00 a.m., and mixed doubles will follow the same start time on Sunday. Singles matches will take place in the afternoon on either day. All doubles matches are single games played to 11, win by 2, while medal rounds will be best two out of three. Singles matches use rally scoring to 21, also win by 2.

Affordable Rates and Player Rewards

The early registration fee is $65 for the first event, $45 for the second, and $35 for the third. Players must contact the tournament director to receive a discount code when entering a third event.

Participants will also benefit from the Amateur Pickleball Association’s PicklePerks program. With every registration and win, players earn credit toward future events or pickleball gear.

Cash Prizes for Top Finishers

All open division matches will offer cash prizes. These divisions accept all ages and skill levels. In a fully booked bracket of 14 teams, payouts will be:

  • Gold: $1,000

  • Silver: $600

  • Bronze: $400

The cash awards are split with 50% going to first place, 30% to second, and 20% to third.

Registration, DUPR Rules, and Credits

The registration deadline is 8:00 a.m. on July 16, 2025. Players must register in their qualifying DUPR division. Those with 25 or more games and a 60%+ DUPR reliability must play at their posted rating, even if they believe their skill level differs. “These posted expectations will be applied across the board to all players at all events.”

Once payment is processed, registration is final and non-refundable. However, players who withdraw more than two weeks before the event will receive a full credit for future use. A 50% credit is offered if weather prevents play and no matches are completed. Matches that have started will not qualify for credit.

If players sign up without a partner and none can be found, a credit will be given—no refunds. Late sign-ups that cannot be added will also get a credit. Partner changes within two weeks of the event require the new player to pay separately. The original player will get a credit minus a $15 fee. If the APA fills the spot, no credit is provided to the withdrawing player.

Why This Tournament Matters

The Fort Wayne Gold Cup offers amateur players a competitive environment to test their skills, earn prizes, and enjoy a professional-level experience. With 150 APA events planned for 2025, this tournament is part of a growing national tour aiming to bring more recognition and excitement to amateur pickleball.
