How moorlow Is Turning Pickleball Fashion Into a Bold Movement for Brain Health

Pickleball Fashion For Brain Health: Three friends—Brooks Kenny, Holly Espy, and Sondra Hoffman—have launched a new pickleball fashion brand called moorlow that promotes brain health education. The brand is using bold designs and bright colors to raise awareness while donating $2 from each sale to support dementia research and prevention.

Fashion with a purpose

moorlow is not just about looking good on the court. Every piece carries a message about brain health. With fun and stylish clothing, the brand aims to help people learn more about keeping their brains strong and active.

Sondra Hoffman shared the meaning behind their design:
“The M design emulates the bounce of a pickleball and a brain wave,” said Sondra Hoffman. “Our mission is in our product. When you put on our rally print, and you see the zig zag exposed stitching on the back of any of our pieces, it’s a reminder that you’re supporting brain health education and research by buying this.”

moorlow donates $2 per item to two brain health groups: Bright Focus Foundation and Hilarity for Charity. The number two has a special meaning in pickleball, as players must win by two points.

Clothing that teaches and gives back

Each moorlow purchase includes tips on brain health in the packaging. For repeat buyers, the tips change so customers learn something new each time. The founders say the idea of giving and learning is at the heart of what they do.

“Brain health and education is critical to our mission and we care deeply about philanthropy. Every customer, when they buy a piece of moorlow, they receive brain health education and tips in their packaging. And those tips rotate for repeating customers, too,” said Brooks Kenny. “We want our customers to look great, feel great, play great, and know that they are doing good.”

Brooks Kenny pointed out how brain health and lifestyle are connected. She said pickleball is a great way to support the brain through movement, learning, and fun.

“Even learning something new and keeping score during a game, that’s good for your brain,” explained Brooks Kenny. “That drives oxygen and neuroplasticity to your brain, so we felt like it was the perfect opportunity to reinforce brain health education, while also watching people have fun and play a sport we love.”

Supporting brain health through sport

Brooks Kenny shared research showing that racket sports like pickleball are great for brain health. They involve thinking, moving, and connecting with others, all of which help keep the brain sharp.

“Research shows that it’s never too early and it’s never too late to do something positive for your brain. It’s a myth that Alzheimer’s and cognitive decline is just a part of the natural aging process,” said Brooks Kenny. “Age is the biggest risk factor, but there’s a lot you can do at any age to keep your brain sharp, and we want that message to transcend generations.”

Fun, fashion, and impact

moorlow’s clothing stands out with bright colors like light blue, navy, white, and pickleball green. Their style is meant to bring joy and energy to the court.

“Our aesthetic is bold, strong, and the cause is even better,” said Holly Espy. “We like to use the phrase, ‘Play happy,’ so our color schemes are bright. There’s always a pop of color on every piece. But our biggest thing is that we are all about joy, movement, and meaning, and that’s in every stitch of our clothes.”

moorlow plans to launch new collections soon, continuing to grow its message and mission.
