Pro Secrets Unveiled: Roscoe Bellamy’s 6 Game-Changing Pickleball Drills for Rapid Skill Boost

Roscoe Bellamy Pickleball Drills: Professional pickleball player Roscoe Bellamy has revealed six key drills to help players improve quickly. The routine is designed to build skills faster than just playing matches. By focusing on specific movements and strategies, players can fix weaknesses, improve touch, and build muscle memory faster than ever.

Why Drilling Beats Casual Matches

Roscoe Bellamy explained that most players hit a plateau because they only play matches. Matches help you compete, but don’t teach core skills. Drills, however, allow players to repeat key shots over and over again. This helps improve speed, control, and confidence.

“Matches help you compete. But drills are what actually make you better,” Roscoe Bellamy said.

Drill 1: Establish Drill

In this drill, one player feeds the ball from the baseline while the other tries to reach the kitchen line using soft shots like drops and resets. The player already at the net defends aggressively to keep the opponent back. Once the player reaches the kitchen, the rally ends.

Drill 2: Slinky Drill

This drill improves control when hitting resets from different spots on the court. A player slowly backs away from the kitchen line to the baseline, keeping shots low and unattackable. Roscoe Bellamy reminds players, “Try to stay nice and calm with your body and be very stable.”

Drill 3: Off-the-Bounce Drill

This fast-paced drill trains hand speed and attack combos. One player feeds a bouncing ball that the other speeds up. The rally begins after the speed-up. One player works on fast attacks, while the other works on blocking and countering.

Roscoe Bellamy added, “The goal is to have one person who’s working on hitting critical spots and using combos… and someone working on countering and winning that hands battle.”

Drill 4: Crosscourt Dink Battle

This drill focuses on one of the most common rally situations—crosscourt dinks. Both players dink from opposite sides of the court, looking for chances to attack out of the air. “For this drill specifically, don’t attack off the bounce,” Bellamy explained.

Players are trained to stay low, use small swings, and lean in when they get a good shot.

Drill 5: Reset Drill from Midcourt

Here, one player stands midcourt and the other at the kitchen line. The player at the kitchen feeds a high ball and attacks. The midcourt player must reset the ball and survive the point. This helps prepare for real-game situations where pressure builds during transitions.

Roscoe Bellamy said, “If you don’t train your resets, then you’re missing out.”

Drill 6: Close-Quarters Volley Drill

In this final drill, players stand one step inside the kitchen line and volley back and forth. Because they’re only 12 feet apart, they must react fast and keep their swings tight. After a few minutes, they move back and notice how much easier it feels.

“Do this drill on a daily basis and those hands battles are going to feel very easy,” said Roscoe Bellamy.

Building a Pro-Level Routine

Roscoe Bellamy is also creating a step-by-step training system to help players think and play like professionals. He plans to offer early access to a limited number of players. “It’s a step-by-step framework that will show you how to see the game, understand the game, and play the game like a pro player.”

He also encourages players to subscribe to his channel for more drills and updates.

Why This Matters

Roscoe Bellamy’s drills are helping pickleball players at all levels speed up improvement. By switching focus from playing to purposeful practice, players are more likely to gain confidence, win points, and climb the skill ladder. Drilling is becoming essential for anyone serious about competing.
