Serve Up Style: The Surprising Summer 2025 Pickleball Fashion Trends Taking Courts by Storm

Summer 2025 Pickleball Fashion: Pickleball has become one of the most popular summer activities in 2025, and with more people picking up a paddle, players are also stepping up their fashion game. From navy outfits and coastal styles to floral prints and girly accessories, this season’s trends are all about style and comfort on the court.

Navy Is the Go-To Color

Navy blue is the standout color for this summer. Many are choosing it over black because it’s still slimming but has a softer look. Navy also matches well with many other colors. Mary Brascia showed off a navy mesh dress from Lucky in Love at the Veolia North Carolina Open, proving how great this color looks on the court. “Navy is definitely her color.”

Coastal Looks Are In

The East Coast country club style is taking over pickleball fashion. This trend is inspired by places like the Hamptons, where women play pickleball in the morning and relax by the pool later. The look includes red, white, navy, pinstripes, and polished styles. Hunter Johnson, dressed by Wilson, and Genie Bouchard, in New Balance, both show off this clean and elegant look. “She has that classic court elegance like no other.”

Florals Stay Strong in Summer

Even though florals are usually seen in spring, they are staying popular through the summer. These prints are colorful, fun, and stand out on the court. Helena Jansen wore a floral dress at the Veolia North Carolina Open and “looked so adorable.” Brands like LoveShackFancy, Halara, and Astoria are offering many floral styles. LoveShackFancy also worked with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, boosting the popularity of these feminine prints. “Clearly, there’s a demand for floral fits in activewear.”

Lace and Crochet Add a Fun Twist

Lace and crochet styles, often seen at festivals and beaches, are entering pickleball fashion. Aerie has made lace athletic shorts, which look nice, but may not be great for serious matches. Lululemon’s wrap dresses with side bows and Beach Riot’s mix of floral and bow designs are new and stylish. “I’m not a bow girl, so the bow printed patterns aren’t my favorite. But I do think the bow embellishments are really adorable.” Tyra Hurricane Black might wear Halara’s bow back dress at a Grand Slam and change minds about this trend. “I can totally see Tyra Hurricane Black wearing this white Halara bow back dress at a Grand Slam and convincing me I need to participate more in the bow trend.”

Gingham Is Back

Gingham patterns are trending again. They are popular both on and off the court. Target released an active wrap dress in gingham that sold out quickly. Altar’d State combined pink gingham with bows for an extra cute look. However, there is some worry that the style may not last. “I hope it’s not the kind of trend where we all look back at old photos and think ‘I can’t believe I wore that.’”

Drop Waists Make an Appearance

Drop waist dresses are also trending. These dresses are stylish but can be tricky since they sit at the hips. Anthropologie has a version that looks very elegant. “It’s why I’ll forever hate low rise jeans and strictly wear mid-to-high rise because they hit at your natural waist and better accentuate your figure.” Alex Walker and Angie Walker wore A-line drop waist dresses that made the trend more wearable. “They made me like this style a lot more.”

Top Accessories This Season

  • Visors are popular this summer. They offer shade and better airflow than hats. “Pickleball Central has lots of options for hats and visors to keep yourself cool.”

  • Ruffle Socks are adding a girly touch. These socks are cute but should match the shoes. “If you’re going to wear ruffle socks, please color coordinate them with your shoes. There’s nothing more disappointing than when your socks don’t match your shoes.”

  • Knits are popular for early mornings. Sweaters from Alo, Spiritual Gangster, and Wiskii fit the East Coast style. But knits can be too warm for play. “Playing in an actual knit dress sounds like you’d get really hot.” Lara Giltinan wore a knit set from Alo at the Veolia Atlanta Championships and “looked so cute.”
