Franklin’s C45° Series Paddles Shake Up Pickleball With Pro-Backed Design and Game-Changing Performance

Franklin C45° Series Pickleball Paddles: Franklin’s C45° Series paddles have become a top pick among professional pickleball players like Parris Todd, Hayden Patriquin, Sofia Sewing, Will Howells, Megan Fudge, Jorja Johnson, and JW Johnson. These paddles are gaining attention not only for their bold looks but also for introducing new performance features that are making a difference on the court.

New Paddle Shapes and Eye-Catching Designs

Franklin first released the C45° Hybrid earlier this year. It quickly sold out and became a favorite from local courts to pro events. This summer, Franklin added two more shapes to the C45° Series – the Dynasty (elongated) and Tempo (widebody).

These paddles come in bright colors like blue, green, and red, with shiny metallic edge guards. The brand also announced signature models, including a pink Hybrid paddle for Parris Todd and a light blue Dynasty paddle for Hayden Patriquin.

What Makes the C45° Series Unique

The C45° paddles are not just stylish. They are made with a special double-thermoforming process, which means the layers are pressed together using heat, not glue. This process helps make the paddle stronger and reduces how much it shakes when hitting the ball.

Each paddle also uses a Powerflex core. It has two layers of foam inside – a thin, firm layer for power and a soft layer for better control.

The surface is made of carbon fiber placed at a 45-degree angle. This helps players create more spin and keep the ball under control. All C45° paddles are approved for competitive play by USA Pickleball and the United Pickleball Association.

Paddle Weight and Custom Adjustments

The Hybrid, Dynasty, and Tempo models all come in 14mm or 16mm thicknesses and weigh about 7.5 ounces without extra weight. That makes them light and fast but might affect the sweet spot – the best part of the paddle to hit the ball.

Adding some weight around the edges can help improve power and expand the sweet spot. Many Franklin pros do this to get better performance from their paddles.

Players Share Their Thoughts

A reviewer shared their experience with the Dynasty 16mm:
“I’ve been playing with the Dynasty 16mm for a couple weeks now and it’s quickly become a favorite in my rotation.”

They liked the longer shape and said the 5.5-inch handle helped with two-handed backhands. After adding weight, the paddle offered both power and control.
“I didn’t find the spin to be exceptional, but it wasn’t lacking either – the face on the 16mm pockets the ball well, which does help shape the ball on certain shots.”

They also noted the paddle’s powerful hits near the net and its “deep, satisfying thud sound” from the double-thermoforming and carbon fiber face.

Alina, Partnerships Manager at The Dink, tested the Dynasty 14mm and shared her feedback:
“You might notice a somewhat hollow sound on drives and even dinks. Don’t let that throw you off; it’s more about the paddle’s unique construction than any lack of performance. And while the sweet spot isn’t the largest right out of the box, that’s actually an easy fix. My own experience on the court with it showed that adding a bit of lead tape really helps to open up that sweet spot and enhance stability, all without sacrificing the paddle’s natural quickness.”

Alina also liked the spin:
“The ball really bites the face, giving you excellent control for shaping shots,” she added.

What This Means for Pickleball

Franklin’s C45° Series is changing how paddles look and perform. With more top pros using them and new signature models coming soon, these paddles could become even more popular. The mix of style and smart design may set a new standard in pickleball equipment.
