Global Pickleball Federation DUPR Partnership: The Global Pickleball Federation (GPF), the world governing body for pickleball, has officially named DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) as its official rating system. This move unites the GPF’s continental federations, member countries, and GPF-run events under one trusted, global rating scale.
A Unified Rating System for Global Pickleball
The GPF oversees pickleball across Africa, the Americas, Oceania, Asia, and parts of Europe. With DUPR as the official rating system, players and event organizers worldwide will have a clear and consistent way to measure skill and manage competitions. DUPR’s rating scale ranges from 2.000 to 8.000, covering all levels from beginners to top players. This helps clubs and federations seed tournament brackets and set fair divisions easily.
GPF President Javier Regalado said, “Having a single, trusted rating system in place across continents is a positive step toward unifying pickleball, eliminating some of the confusion and fragmentation that inhibits growth.”
Supporting Player Development and Olympic Dreams
DUPR’s ratings reflect real-time match performance, not just wins and losses. This allows players of all levels—from recreational to national team prospects—to track their progress accurately. The partnership also strengthens the GPF’s efforts to gain International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognition. The GPF recently submitted its IOC application in Lausanne, Switzerland, aiming to have pickleball included in the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
Tito Machado, CEO of DUPR, commented, “Under GPF and DUPR’s historic alignment, international players of all ages, gender and location are united under one technology platform to grow the great sport of pickleball.”
The GPF board includes leaders from countries such as Australia, Canada, Chile, Ghana, India, Ireland, Mexico, the Philippines, Poland, and the United States. These leaders are committed to helping pickleball grow worldwide.
This partnership creates a clearer competition framework and supports pickleball’s rapid global growth and future Olympic goals.
