Pickleball Shoe Market Grows as Players Demand Performance and Comfort

Best Pickleball Shoes 2025: The pickleball shoe industry has changed rapidly since 2022, moving from repurposed tennis shoes to footwear made specifically for pickleball. New designs now offer better support, faster movement, and increased comfort for men and women, helping both professionals and amateur players improve their game.

In the early days, players wore standard tennis shoes. Companies started labeling their existing models for pickleball without changing the design. Today, several brands are making shoes with features tailored for the unique court movement of pickleball. These shoes focus on comfort, ankle support, and court grip.

DAPS Leads the Pack in Innovation

The DAPS pickleball shoes launched this spring and quickly gained popularity. Players from The Kitchen’s Major League Pickleball team, the Nashville Chefs, now wear them. To prove their performance, DAPS sent their shoes to the Heeluxe Performance Lab. The test results showed that DAPS shoes provide faster starts, quicker stops, better energy return, and more energy efficiency.

The DAPS Desi Mid version is designed for players who prefer extra ankle support. It features a mid-top build, soft padding, and added stability, which helps with sudden changes of direction. These shoes are especially useful for players coming from sports like basketball, volleyball, or softball.

Diadem, HEAD, Skechers, and K-Swiss Join the Game

Diadem’s new pickleball shoe is designed for speed and control. It has a stretch upper material to hold the foot in place and keeps sweat away. TPU overlays help protect the shoe from wear caused by toe draggers.

HEAD’s women’s pickleball shoe offers comfort through its DynaFoam midsole. This part is made from EVA foam and air pockets for light support. It helps players move smartly while the rubber sole ensures grip in all directions.

Skechers brings back a trusted design with breathable mesh uppers and a cushioned Ultra Flight midsole. This keeps feet cool and dry, prevents blisters, and helps players stay fresh throughout long matches.

K-Swiss is known for tennis shoes and now focuses on pickleball. The Pickleball Express Light shoe supports side-to-side movements and keeps players comfortable with a responsive midsole built for energy transfer.

Changing the Game for Players

With more players taking pickleball seriously, footwear has become a key part of performance and injury prevention. Shoes are now made to match the fast pace and side-to-side action of the sport. New models continue to be tested, reviewed, and updated for better performance.

As more athletes turn to pickleball, companies are expected to keep improving their shoe designs. Features like breathability, stability, and ankle support are becoming standard, helping players stay competitive and comfortable.
