A Milestone for Malaysia

“On 30th August 2025, the Unified World Pickleball Federation elected its first-ever Board of Directors, and Malaysia is on the global stage! Congratulations to Dr Kelvin Yii from Sarawak for being elected into the inaugural Board of Directors. This is a proud milestone for Malaysia and Sarawakians, as we help shape the future of pickleball worldwide, and work towards the Olympic dream.”
A Step Toward Unity
The selection of the board is being seen as an important moment for pickleball. For years, the sport has lacked a single global identity. The creation of the UWPF and its new leadership aims to unite efforts and provide a clearer direction for the future.
What It Means for the Sport
With the new board in place, the UWPF is expected to guide pickleball’s global growth. Many see this as an important step toward international recognition and even Olympic inclusion in the future. Supporters believe the sport is now better positioned to expand worldwide under this leadership.
