DUPR Verified Events Set New Standard for Fair Play in Competitive Pickleball

DUPR Verified Pickleball Events Integrity: The Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR) system has launched DUPR Verified events to protect the fairness of tournaments and improve trust in player ratings. These events are designed to stop match manipulation and give more value to verified competition.

What Are DUPR Verified Events?

DUPR Verified events can only be hosted by clubs and organizations that meet strict standards of quality. To take part, players must have a DUPR+ subscription and a verified phone number. These rules are meant to create the highest level of trust in results.

Rules for Registration

All players must register in brackets that match their current DUPR rating. This ensures fair play by keeping athletes in the right skill divisions. Every participant must also have an authenticated DUPR account before entering an event.

Score Reporting Requirements

Organizers must report all completed matches without leaving out any results. The scores, dates, and players must be entered in the correct order. If an API partner is used, withdrawals and retirements must be clearly marked. Reports must be submitted within 48 hours of the event ending.

Organizers are responsible for fixing errors themselves. In rare cases, they may contact DUPR Support for help. The DUPR Team will not make corrections without permission from the event organizer.

Event Organizer Responsibilities

Organizers must oversee matches fairly and remain impartial. If an organizer is also competing, they must appoint an independent official to report scores for that division. Any manipulation or false reporting is not allowed. Breaking these rules may result in suspension or removal from hosting DUPR Verified events.

Match Weighting and Player Ratings

DUPR places more trust in the results of Verified events. Because of this, matches from these tournaments count more toward player ratings than those from regular events. This system rewards both organizers and players who follow higher standards.

Regular Events Still Matter

DUPR confirmed that not all events will be Verified. Regular DUPR tournaments will continue to count toward player ratings. The Verified program is an added option for players and organizers who want their matches to carry more weight and credibility.

Benefits of DUPR Verified Events

For players, these events offer stronger competition and the most reliable ratings. For organizers, Verified status shows commitment to fairness and quality. DUPR calls this approach the new gold standard for tours, leagues, and clubs across the country.

Looking Ahead

DUPR said this is only the beginning. The organization is working with partners across the United States to expand the Verified program. The long-term goal is to make DUPR Verified events the standard for competitive pickleball.
