Pickleball Injury Prevention Guide: John Gallucci Jr., president and CEO of JAG Physical Therapy in Bridgewater, has released his latest book, Pickleball Pickleball Pickleball: Don’t Get Hurt!, now available on Amazon. The guide offers strategies to prevent injuries and stay healthy as pickleball grows as America’s fastest-growing sport.
Rising Injuries and Need for Guidance
Gallucci has observed a sharp increase in pickleball injuries across JAG Physical Therapy’s 170 clinics. In 2023, pickleball caused over 67,000 emergency room visits, 366,000 outpatient visits, and 9,000 outpatient surgeries. With participation up over 45% in the last two years, the book addresses the growing need for injury prevention and treatment guidance.
What the Book Covers
Pickleball Pickleball Pickleball: Don’t Get Hurt! provides an easy-to-read guide for players of all levels. Its 12 chapters cover full-body injury prevention, warm-up and cool-down techniques, conditioning tips, equipment advice, and real-world pickleball case studies.
“Pickleball is a great way to stay active, but it’s still a sport your body needs to be trained for,” said John Gallucci Jr. “No matter your age, fitness level or athletic experience, pickleball is a full-body sport that can impact players in sudden and unexpected ways. This book is about helping people enjoy every match while staying off the sidelines. We want to see you on the courts and out of our clinics!”
Supporting Players on the Ground
The book release coincides with JAG Physical Therapy’s new partnership with The Picklr Manahawkin-LBI, part of the world’s largest indoor pickleball franchise. This collaboration will provide care and educational content directly to players. A book launch event will take place at the club this fall, with updates available on social media.
