StarDream Cruises Pickleball Courts at Sea: StarDream Cruises is adding pickleball courts to its ships to meet the sport’s rising popularity in Asia and worldwide. Two vessels now feature courts: Dream Cruises’ Genting Dream has two full courts, while StarCruises’ Star Navigator has one court with panoramic ocean views.
Pickleball on Board
Michael Goh, president of StarDream Cruises, said,
“Pickleball is easy to learn, exciting to play and fun for all ages — perfect for families, friends, and even first-time cruisers looking to try something new.”
The courts were converted from existing basketball areas to provide passengers a new activity at sea.
Schedule and Routes
Pickleball will start on Genting Dream from September 21, available on two- and three-night trips between Singapore and Melaka, and longer trips to Penang and Phuket. A special five-night cruise to South and North Bali will depart on November 30.
Star Navigator will begin offering pickleball on September 26. The ship will sail longer itineraries from Keelung to Japan, including Okinawa and Kyushu, and South Korea, including Jeju and Busan.
Additional Homeport
From November 16 to January 30, Star Navigator will use Kaohsiung as an additional homeport. From there, the ship will run two- and five-night cruises to Okinawa (Japan), multiple Philippine destinations (Laoag, Coron, Boracay, Puerto Princesa), and Vietnamese ports including Ha Long Bay and Da Nang.
Community Impact
The new courts provide passengers a fun and social activity while cruising. The move positions StarDream Cruises to attract families and first-time cruisers looking for interactive experiences, and it reflects the growing demand for pickleball on vacation.
