Rossetti Brothers Aim for Pickleball Record: In a bid to etch their names into the Guinness World Records, Connecticut’s own Rossetti Brothers are gearing up for a groundbreaking pickleball challenge. On August 17, Angelo and Ettore Rossetti will attempt to set the record for the longest pickleball volley at Pickleball America in Stamford, the largest indoor pickleball center in the U.S. The duo aims to surpass 10,000 consecutive volleys without the ball touching the ground.
Record Holders Turned Record Breakers
The Rossetti Brothers are no strangers to record-setting. They currently hold two Guinness World Records: for the “Longest Tennis Volley Rally” with 30,576 volleys in 5 hours and 28 minutes, and the “Longest Pickleball Rally” with 16,046 shots in 6 hours and 11 minutes. Previously, they held the “Longest Tennis Rally” record until it was surpassed in 2017 by Simone Frediani and Daniele Pecci with 51,283 strokes over 12 hours.
Charitable Mission
The record attempt will double as a fundraiser for Save the Children, a cause close to the Rossetti Brothers. To date, their previous record attempts have raised over $250,000 for various charities. Ettore Rossetti, who serves as the lead advisor for digital, marketing, and innovation at Save the Children, emphasized the choice of Pickleball America for its 13 indoor courts, which allows for greater participation and maximizes donations.
Community and Competition
“Our attempt is about serving others first and helping children around the world to experience a healthy, joyous, and purposeful life through pickleball.” – (Angelo Rossetti)
The goal is to raise $10,000 to match their volley count. Donations will be accepted at the event and online, with a live stream available on the Rally 4 Charity website for those unable to attend.
Jay Waldner, co-owner of Pickleball America, highlighted the event’s significance: “Events such as this one are so impactful for the sport of pickleball and represent the positive impact pickleball can have on communities in Connecticut and across the country.” In addition to the record attempt, the event will feature open play and a ladder tournament with medals for the top three scorers.
