Michigan State Pickleball Championships Begins August 23

Michigan State Pickleball Championships: The 2024 Michigan State Pickleball Championships are set to make a splash from August 23rd to 25th, bringing the best of pickleball to Grand Rapids. This United Pickleball Championship event promises three days of intense competition and top-tier action at Belknap Park.

Tournament Details

The event will feature a range of categories, including Men’s and Women’s Singles, Gendered Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Competitors will be challenged across various skill levels: 3.0 & Below, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0+, and OPEN. Age groups include 19, 35, 50, 60, and 70+, with potential for skill level combinations in the 70+ category. A minimum of five entrants is required to form a division.

  • Friday, August 23: Men’s Singles & Women’s Doubles
  • Saturday, August 24: Mixed Doubles
  • Sunday, August 25: Women’s Singles & Men’s Doubles

Prize Money

The OPEN division will feature a prize pool starting at $1,000, with each team entry increasing the pool by an additional $100. Medals and prize money will be awarded as follows:

  • Gold Medalists: 50% of the prize pool
  • Silver Medalists: 30% of the prize pool
  • Bronze Medalists: 20% of the prize pool
