Osaka as Collegiate Pickleball’s New Apparel Sponsor: Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR), presented by Delaware Life, announced that Osaka, a renowned sports and lifestyle brand in Europe, is entering the U.S. racquet sports market. Osaka has signed on as the official apparel sponsor of DUPR Collegiate Pickleball, marking its first venture into the fast-growing sport of pickleball. This partnership aims to further the growth of collegiate pickleball by creating more opportunities for regional and nationwide competitions.

Osaka’s Sports Heritage and Lifestyle Approach

Founded in Antwerp, Belgium, in 2011, Osaka World blends sports heritage with lifestyle, emphasizing a design philosophy of “less is more.” Known for its versatility and durability, Osaka’s product line spans across several sports, including padel and field hockey, with the addition of pickleball. The brand’s focus on inclusivity and innovation aligns with its mission to enhance the athlete’s lifestyle through functional and stylish offerings.

“We admire Japanese culture and design, which is why our brand was named after one of Japan’s largest cities,” the company explains. Osaka’s offerings go beyond equipment, extending to apparel for various racquet sports, team wear, fitness essentials, and fashion-conscious activewear for women.

Partnership to Boost Collegiate Pickleball Growth

DUPR CEO Tito Machado shared his excitement about the partnership, especially as collegiate pickleball continues to surge in popularity.

“Collegiate pickleball is the fastest-growing segment of the game, and we’re honored to have Osaka support us as we create more opportunities for athletes. DUPR’s collegiate program, launched in 2022, now boasts over 250 programs and more than 1,300 athletes. With Osaka’s backing, the tour will feature 27 events in 2024, where collegiate players can compete alongside professionals, thanks to DUPR’s partnership with the United Pickleball Association.
