RPPk and DUPR Launch Top-Tier Coaching Program: From September 9-11, New York City’s premier pickleball venue, CityPickle, was the backdrop for the RPPk World Tour Integral Course. This elite coach training and certification program, a collaboration between RPPk and DUPR, selected 40 coaches from 300 highly qualified applicants to participate in the RPPk – TCC: Train the Coaches Course.
Expert Training and Certification
The course was led by Luis Mediero, the President and Founder of RPPk, in partnership with Tyson McGuffin. RPPk Master Instructors Derek Sawyer, Tommy Labad, Brad Lees, and Chris Wolfe also contributed, having recently earned their certification as Master Instructors. The training will continue across the United States with support from the DUPR team, including Tito Machado, Cesar Clemente, Kyrill Hartog, Kevin Kim, and Dave McCune.
Global Impact and Future Plans
RPPk and DUPR have collaborated with the United Pickleball Association (UPA), including the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) and Major League Pickleball (MLP). This partnership will see the development of an official education and certification program for coaches, umpires, team managers, and tournament directors worldwide.
For the first time, the RPPk Accelerated program will be taught at the Pickleball World Cup (PWC) in Lima, Peru, on October 22nd and 23rd. This program will include 32 coaches and players from the World Cup and certified tennis, padel, and pickleball coaches from Latin America.
RPPk’s Global Reach and Recognition
Established in 2021, the International Coaches Institute (ICI) created the Registry of Pickleball Professionals (RPPk) to offer professional training, international certification, and comprehensive services for pickleball teaching professionals. RPPk boasts over 1,200 certified coaches across 21 countries.
Certifications and Recognitions
All qualifications from the course are officially recognized by several bodies, including the International Registry of Pickleball Professionals (RPPk International), European Registry of Pickleball Professionals (RPPk Europe), United States Registry of Pickleball Professionals (RPPk USA), Registro Profesional de Pickleball Latinoamericano (RPPk Latinoamérica), International Coaches Institute (ICI), and the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR).
