The Houstonian Club Launches New Pickleball Complex in Houston

New Pickleball Complex in Houston: The Houstonian Club, a premier fitness and wellness facility in Houston, has announced the launch of its newly constructed Pickleball Complex, serving to the rising popularity of pickleball among its members.

Pickleball, recognized as America’s fastest-growing sport, combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, appealing to players of all ages and skill levels. According to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association, the demand for pickleball facilities is projected to drive $900 million in construction and the development of over 25,000 courts in the coming years.

The newly launched 28,000-square-foot complex features eight courts, accommodating up to 32 players simultaneously Designed by Design Workshop and constructed by Forney Construction, the project was completed in eight months to meet the growing demand among members.

The complex includes four open-air courts and four covered courts, shielded by a custom-built Novashield structure provided by USA Shade. This design ensures year-round comfort and protection from weather elements, including UV rays, increasing the playing experience.

Adding to the facility’s appeal, the Pickleball Complex boasts stadium-style seating for 300 spectators, dedicated restroom facilities, and The Courtside Pro Shop. This retail space offers a variety of grab-and-go snacks, including Antone’s Po’ Boy sandwiches, overnight oats, yogurt parfaits, chips, trail mix, beef jerky, and an assortment of canned alcoholic beverages. It also stocks a inclusive range of racquet sports items, from shoes and apparel to equipment for pickleball, tennis, and padel.

Anthony Bright, the club’s pickleball coordinator, leads a team of instructors committed to supporting ongoing play, lessons, and the sport’s growing popularity among members. The Pickleball Complex invites members to enjoy daily and weekly programming, as well as semi-private or private lessons, and hosts private events to further enrich the pickleball experience at The Houstonian Club.
