Borneo Pickleball International Tournament Sees Stellar Performances and Big Rewards

The Borneo Pickleball International Tournament (BPIT) 2024 ended with an exhilarating conclusion on October 14th at Pikabol – Malaysia’s premier pickleball venue. Over four days, the tournament became the stage for some of the finest pickleball talent from across the region, delivering intense competition and sportsmanship in multiple categories.

Paragon SG Claims Championship Title

In a thrilling team competition, Paragon SG stood tall as the champions, showing their dominance in the event. Hot on their heels, Paragon Perfecto finished as the runner-up, proving their resilience throughout the tournament.

ESM Voltage Vipers Pickleball secured third place, while Dayak Daily Berami rounded out the top four with a strong performance. These four teams battled it out fiercely, with over 500 players participating across individual and team categories, including the highly competitive Mixed Doubles Veteran and Novice Doubles.

Honoring the Best in the Sport

The pickleball tournament’s closing ceremony featured an uplifting awards presentation where YB Datuk Snowdan Lawan took center stage to distribute the medals to the victorious players.

Alongside prestigious trophies, the winners were also rewarded with exclusive prizes from top sponsors Skechers and Starbucks. A generous prize pool of RM20,650 added to the excitement and recognition of the players’ exceptional performances.

Borneo Pickleball International Tournament 2024’s success was made possible by a collective of partners and sponsors, including the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau, Sarawak Energy Berhad, WTK, and Starbucks.

The event also enjoyed the backing of the Malaysia Pickleball Association and the Sarawak Pickleball Association, alongside vital support from the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak and the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Sarawak.

In his speech at the closing ceremony, Mr. Ruslan Bujang, Chairman of Borneo Pickleball International Tournament 2024, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the partners and emphasized the growing influence of sports tourism in Sarawak.

As Borneo Pickleball International Tournament 2024 concluded successfully, excitement is already building for the next edition, with the popularity of pickleball continuing to rise, not just in Malaysia, but across the globe.
