Kristen Kenison Wins Carvana PPA Sweepstakes: When math teacher Kristen Kenison first entered the Carvana PPA Tour Road To The Finals Sweepstakes, winning a car felt like a long shot. Still, she decided to take a chance, filling out the entry form and submitting her details. Little did she know, this decision would turn out to be the right one.
“I was in one of those moods where I thought, ‘What the heck? Why not?’ I scrounged around to get my VIN number, filled out all the information, and submitted my form,” (Kristen Kenison).

A Stroke of Good Fortune
The day before Kristen received the call that she had won, she found out that her son Nathan’s car had failed its annual inspection. The news couldn’t have come at a worse time for the young family.
“They have two kiddos under the age of two, so they’ve outgrown their car,”. “With two car seats and a beautiful lab, their car is just too tight. They’re outdoorsy people, so they always have a lot of gear. And when they found out their car didn’t pass, they were going to sink so much money into repairs.”(Kristen Kenison)
With the family already under pressure, Kristen began thinking of ways she could help.
A Plan Takes Shape
Taking a walk around her neighborhood the next day, the thought crossed Kristen’s mind to rally the in-laws and pool money together for a new car for Nathan and his family. With the new baby and other responsibilities weighing heavily on them, she felt they needed support.
“I was looking at their tiny house and all the things they have on their plates. I told them I’m going to keep buying lottery tickets and hoping that something would happen,” (Kristen Kenison).
A Surprise Call Changes Everything
Then, on Monday, Kristen received a call she would never forget. Kim Pettit, the Vice President of Partnerships for the PPA Tour, was on the line with news that Kristen had won the sweepstakes.
“I just couldn’t believe it. I did a little jig in the classroom,”. “It was incredibly gratifying to have something like this land in your lap out of nowhere”(Kristen Kenison).
A Christmas to Remember
The prize was not only a new car but also an all-expenses-paid trip to the CIBC PPA Tour Finals in San Clemente, California. As a passionate pickleball player, Kristen was thrilled by the VIP experience and the chance to watch her favorite professional players live.
“Catherine Parenteau and her partner, Athena, are my heroes at 63 years old. I also love Allyce Jones and Hurricane Tyra Black,”. “There’s just incredible kindness in pickleball. At the pro level, everyone is so accessible and loves to give back to the game. I’m so grateful to be a part of this community” (Kristen Kenison).
With the new car and unforgettable experiences, this Christmas will surely go down as one Kristen and her family will never forget.
