ServeSport’s Pickleball Center: Micheal Lynch, founder of sports technology company ServeSport, has submitted a change of use application to expand its pickleball center in Stafford Park. The company, currently based in Unit 11c of Kendall Business Park, seeks to move into an additional unit (8/9c) to increase the number of courts and accommodate the growing demand for the sport.
The current three-court center has become a hit, with over 400 regular players. However, the existing facility has only four parking spaces, limiting court availability to just one court during the week. The new unit, with 23 parking spaces, will allow the center to expand to six courts.
Why the Expansion Is Needed
ServeSport’s pickleball center is the only dedicated facility of its kind in the UK, attracting significant attention and publicity for both the sport and the town. The expansion will help meet the increasing demand for pickleball in the area and provide more opportunities for Telford residents to play.
The plans for the expanded facility aim to offer a much-needed health and leisure resource for the local community. Lynch’s application emphasizes the positive impact the center has already had on the sport’s visibility and the local area.
Lynch’s Vision for the Future
Lynch, who has overseen the center’s development, explained the importance of the expansion.
“The expansion of the number of courts from three to six will enable us to meet the ever-growing demand for the sport,”. “It will also provide more residents of Telford with the opportunity to play.”( Micheal Lynch)
The expansion will not only serve local pickleball players but also attract new players, enhancing the area’s reputation as a center for the growing sport. With six courts, the center can accommodate more players, creating a dynamic, inclusive environment for all levels of the game.
Impact on the Community
The expansion of ServeSport’s pickleball center will benefit both the town of Telford and the parish. By providing more opportunities for people to engage in physical activity, the center will encourage a healthier lifestyle and contribute to the local economy.
Lynch’s vision includes not just an expansion of the courts but also an investment in the community’s overall health and well-being. The additional facility will help to continue building a strong, vibrant pickleball community in the UK.
Looking ahead, ServeSport plans to continue supporting and growing the sport, with further expansions expected if demand continues to rise.
