The 2025 River City Classic is gearing up to welcome pickleball enthusiasts from across Australia on July 12 and 13 at the Shaw Park Tennis Centre in Wooloowin, Brisbane. Sanctioned by Pickleball Australia, this Tier 2 tournament offers participants the opportunity to earn valuable Australian Ranking (AR) points while competing under the official Global Pickleball Federation Rulebook.
Open to All Pickleball Australia Members
Any member of Pickleball Australia is eligible to register for the tournament, which features a two-day schedule packed with various categories. Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Para Doubles, and Singles will take place on Saturday, July 12, while Mixed Doubles is set for Sunday, July 13.
Registration is priced at $75, covering one event, with $20 for each additional event, up to a maximum of three events per player. Registration will close on June 29 at 8:00 PM AEST, or earlier if capacity is reached.
Tournament Format and Match Details
The River City Classic will adopt a round-robin format for qualifying games across all events. For pools with up to 5 players or teams, matches will be played to 15 points, win by 2. For pools with 6 or more, games will be to 11 points, win by 2. Semifinals will consist of a single game to 15, while medal matches will follow the best-of-three format, played to 11 points, win by 2 in each game.
