The first-ever Southwest Pickleball Doubles Championships will take place at Eaton Recreation Centre in Eaton, Western Australia, on July 12 and 13, 2025. The event will feature gender doubles on Saturday and mixed doubles for juniors and adults on Sunday.
Organized by Bunbury Pickleball Inc. and the Pickleball Association of Western Australia, the tournament is officially sanctioned by Pickleball Australia and will follow USA Pickleball rules. Registration closes on June 29, 2025, at 8:00 PM.
Competitive Play Across Two Days
Matches will be held on 12 indoor courts at Eaton Recreation Centre, located at 18 Recreation Drive. Facilities include change rooms, restrooms, a water fountain, an on-site café, and nearby parking at Eaton Fair Shopping Centre.
Players are limited to one event per day. Entry costs AUD 50.00 for adults and AUD 30.00 for juniors. Each extra event costs an additional AUD 20.00.
To take part, players must have a profile on PickleballTournaments.com. Western Australia residents must be members of the Pickleball Association of Western Australia, while all other players must be members of Pickleball Australia.
Format, Rules, and Prizes
Round robin matches will be played to 15 points, win by 2. Advanced medal matches will be best two out of three games to 11, win by 2—except for some brackets such as age 70+, which will use a one-game-to-15 format.
Each participant is guaranteed at least three games. Medals will be awarded to the top three teams in every bracket—Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
Late arrivals risk losing their match. If any player experiences an emergency or delay, they must contact the Tournament Director. Arrivals over 10 minutes late may lead to a forfeit.
Social Events and Community Spirit
All players will be invited to a social event on Saturday night, with details to be announced. This social evening is part of the tournament’s effort to promote fun, community, and good sportsmanship among players and fans.
