Yeppoon Fireball Pineapple Cup Promises Thrilling Team Battles and Live Streaming Spectacle in Queensland

The Yeppoon Fireball Pineapple Cup Teams event will take place from July 21 to 22, 2025, at 28 Chrisney Street in Cooee Bay, Queensland, Australia. Organized by Pickleball Tournaments Australia, this unique team competition will feature permanent outdoor courts, Franklin X-40 balls, and live-streamed matches with video and audio coverage.

How the Tournament Works

Registration closes on July 18, 2025, at 8:00 AM AEST. Each team must consist of four players and enter as two doubles pairs. Teams must send their full lineup and chosen team name. Each player is allowed to join one gender team and one mixed team.

The entry fee is AUD 60 for the first event and AUD 30 for the second. The tournament uses rally scoring to 21 points in all stages, with players switching partners every five points. There is no freeze at 20. The winning team will be crowned the sole champion of the 2025 Yeppoon Fireball Pineapple Cup.

Pool play will be one game to 21 (win by 2). Playoffs follow the same format. Bronze matches will be best of three to 21, and gold medal matches will be best of three to 11 (win by 2). If fewer than four teams enter a bracket, events may be combined by skill or age level.

Live Coverage and Conduct Guidelines

All matches will be recorded and broadcast online. Participants are advised that cameras will capture video, audio, and possibly identifying details. “Please observe appropriate standards of behaviour, conduct and language in or around the live streaming devices, whose presence will be marked by signage at the match,” organizers said.

By joining the event, players agree to have their image and information used as described in the live streaming policy.

Refund Policy and Deadlines

Refunds are allowed without question until registration closes, minus Stripe fees. After that date, refunds require a medical certificate and will exclude transaction costs. General withdrawals after the close of registration will have AUD 30 withheld. No refunds will be given once the draw and match times are published, except with a medical certificate. If the tournament is canceled by organizers, no refunds will be issued.

Why This Event Matters

The Yeppoon Fireball Pineapple Cup is being billed as “the most teams event ever played.” Its creative format, inclusive structure, and live coverage aim to grow team pickleball’s popularity in Australia. With dynamic gameplay and national attention, it could become a key date on the Pickleball Tournaments Australia calendar.
