Pickleball Australia Membership: Pickleball Australia has released its latest monthly statistics showing that the sport continues to grow rapidly in 2025. There are now 321 clubs and affiliates across the country, more than 530 venues, and over 3,300 weekly sessions available to players.
The report also revealed that 98 Pickleball Australia–sanctioned tournaments are already scheduled for 2025. Major organizers, including PPA Australia and MLP Australia, will hold 12 events next year, offering over $1 million in total prize money. NPL Australia will stage Season 3 and 4 of the NPL with $200,000 in prize money, along with additional tournaments featuring over $100,000 in rewards.
Why the Sport is Growing
Pickleball Australia explained the reasons for the sport’s popularity. According to the organization, “it’s easy to learn, highly Inclusive fun, social and competitive and encourages intergenerational activity.”
The sport is also linked to mental, physical, and social wellbeing, making it appealing to people of all ages.
Membership Highlights
Pickleball Association Queensland has now reached 6,000 members, showing how quickly the sport is expanding in the state. In Victoria, membership has jumped by 94 percent in just one year.
South Australia has also welcomed growth with the Northern Stars Pickleball Club, which gained 143 members in only three months.
Club Growth Across Australia
Sydney Inner West Pickleball Club and Noosa Pickleball Club both recorded a 143 percent increase in membership. Sutherland Shire Pickleball Club saw a 96 percent rise in one year, while Northern Beaches Pickleball Club added 743 members in the last 12 months.
