Pickleball Australia Unveils First-Ever Senior Squad for World Cup Showdown in the US

Pickleball Australia Senior World Cup Team: Pickleball Australia has named its first Senior Australian Team to compete in the 2025 Pickleball World Cup, which will be held in the United States from October 31 to November 2, 2025. The six-player team will represent Australia in a major international tournament featuring more than 60 countries.

Team Announcement

The squad includes Martin Clark from Queensland, Tek Tea from New South Wales, Ivan Stride from New South Wales, Terrie Robson from the Australian Capital Territory, Angela Green from Tasmania, and Naomi Amakawa from New South Wales. The team will be guided by Coach Mike Newell.

Team Australia Coach Mike Newell expressed his excitement, saying,

“We’re proud to have assembled a strong and experienced Australian Senior Team for the Pickleball World Cup.

This group of athletes has the talent and determination to compete with the strongest teams in the world, and we’re confident they’ll represent Australia with pride and passion.”

Tournament Details

The Pickleball World Cup will take place at “The Fort,” a venue that has 43 regulation courts and the world’s first pickleball stadium. Teams will play in a round-robin format using rally scoring. The competition will feature doubles and mixed doubles matches, with the top teams advancing to the elimination playoffs.

More than 60 countries are set to participate, including the United States, Germany, Serbia, Mexico, France, India, Argentina, Trinidad and Tobago, Bahamas, and New Zealand.

Players are eager to take part in the event. Martin Clark said,

“There is no greater privilege in sport than to represent your country. I am over the moon to be part of this awesome team at the 2025 Pickleball World Cup.”

Supporters from Australia will be able to watch the matches through live streaming and cheer for their team from home. The goal for the players will be to push through the group stage and reach the podium against some of the best pickleball nations in the world.
