Event Details
This is the first Sydney Social Slam, a two-day tournament designed for fun and competition. Organised by Sydney Social Pickleball Inc. and supported by Play Pickle, it is a Pickleball Australia sanctioned Tier 1 event. Only members of Pickleball Australia can take part, and all matches will follow the 2025 Global Pickleball Federation Rulebook.
Schedule and Divisions
Saturday is set for men’s and women’s doubles. Players can join age brackets of 19+ or 35+, with skill levels ranging from 3.5 and below to 3.5 and above. Sunday will feature mixed doubles with brackets for 19+ and 35+, ranging from 2.99 and below to 4.0 and above. Competitors may enter a maximum of two events, one each day. The first event costs AUD 50, with a second event available for an added AUD 25.
Registration and Membership
Players must register on Pickleball Brackets and provide their full name, email, phone number, Pickleball Australia Member ID, and a linked DUPR ID. DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) is used to track skill levels and ensure fair seeding. Players must join Pickleball Australia before registering. All matches will use Franklin X40 outdoor balls.
Game Format and Rules
All events begin with round-robin matches followed by semifinals and finals. Round-robin games will be played to 15 points, win by two, with pools of up to five teams. Pools with six or more teams will play to 11 points, win by two. Semifinals are one game to 15, win by two, and medal matches will be best of three games to 11, win by two. Players are guaranteed at least three games per event.
Director’s Discretion
The tournament director may review player ratings, move teams between skill brackets, and adjust schedules if needed. Events with fewer than four teams may be merged with another division, and affected players will be notified by email.
Additional Details
Photos and videos may be taken during the event and used by Play Pickle, Pickleball Australia, Pickleball NSW, or sponsors for websites, social media, and other uses. Players who withdraw before registration closes will receive a full refund minus processing fees.
