The Double Trouble Pickleball Tournament will be held on October 11 and 12, 2025, at the State Pickleball Centre, 13 Burton Court, Bayswater, Victoria. Organized by Pickleball Club of Australia (PBCo), the weekend competition will feature gender doubles on Saturday and mixed doubles on Sunday. Registration costs AUD 50 and closes on October 4, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. AEST.
Tournament Format
The event is designed for doubles play, with two main categories: gender doubles and mixed doubles. Players can register for additional events at AUD 20 each. Divisions are based on skill levels: 2.99 and under, 3.0 to 3.49, 3.5 to 3.99, and 4.0 and above. Spots are limited and will close once the brackets are full.
“They said trouble comes in twos. We said: PERFECT. Welcome to Double Trouble—the newest PBCo showdown where you and your partner in crime take on the courts for a weekend of pure pickle chaos.”
Registration Rules
All participants must create a Pickleball Brackets profile. The profile must include a contact number without the first zero, a valid email, and a linked DUPR account. For players without a DUPR account, one can be created for free at www.dupr.com.
The organizers stressed that DUPR ratings lock divisions. Players cannot enter a lower division to gain easy wins. “No sneaky dropping down a division to chase easy wins (yep, that’s called sandbagging, and it’s a one-way ticket to the PBCo shame spiral).”
Game Details
The tournament will supply balls, while players must bring their own paddles. Results will not be recorded against DUPR, allowing players to compete without affecting their ratings. The event promises a lively atmosphere. “Hydrate, caffeinate, and bring your A-game (and maybe a spare shirt for the sweat-fest). Expect a full day of dinks, drives, and drama. PBCo spirit rules apply: play hard, laugh harder, and leave the tantrums at home.”
Refund Policy
Refunds are available in full until registration closes. After October 4, no refunds will be given except in extreme cases. As stated by organizers: “We get it—life happens. That’s why we’ll refund you in full up until registration closes. After that? Sorry champ, unless you’re abducted by aliens (with photographic proof), your fee is locked in.”
Importance of the Event
The Double Trouble Tournament highlights the growing popularity of doubles play in pickleball across Victoria. By encouraging fair play and maintaining the PBCo’s focus on fun and competition, the event offers a balance of skill, teamwork, and community spirit. With limited spots, it is expected to draw strong interest from players of all levels.
