The 2025 4th Annual Royal LePage Frost Bite Classic Men’s Doubles Tournament will be held on March 15, 2025, at the Vernon Pickleball Association Complex in Vernon, British Columbia. This one-day event will feature competitive matches for men of various skill levels.
Registration Details
Registration for the tournament opened on January 26, 2025, at 10:00 PST and will close on February 28, 2025, at 8:00 PST. The registration fee is CAD 45. Payment can be made via Stripe through the Pickleball Brackets system, accepting credit and debit cards.
To participate, players must be members of Pickleball Canada in good standing. Registration is done through Pickleball Brackets, and all teams must have two registered players.
Event Schedule and Format
The tournament will take place on March 15, 2025, with matches running from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Opening ceremonies will begin at 8:35 a.m., and check-in starts at 8:00 a.m.
The format includes round-robin play with a minimum of four matches per team. The top teams will advance to the playoff rounds, with gold and bronze medal matches. Each group will have a 1-game format to 15 points, while the gold medal match will be best 2 out of 3 to 11 points.
Skill Levels and Age Groups
Men’s Doubles will be divided into skill levels: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0. Players must register in their appropriate skill level. After registration closes, the tournament committee will organize players into age groups based on their team’s age.
Teams may be required to move between skill levels if necessary, depending on the number of registered players.
Equipment and Rules
All players must wear protective eyewear as per the Vernon Pickleball Association’s new policy, effective January 1, 2025. Players who fail to comply will be removed from the tournament without a refund.
The pickleball tournament will use USAP-approved paddles and Franklin X-40 balls. Clothing must contrast with the ball color, and players may be asked to change if there’s a color clash.
Spectator Information
Spectators are welcome, but seating is limited. Players are encouraged to bring their camping chairs. The venue may be cool, so warm clothing is recommended. No food will be provided, but nearby fast food restaurants are available.
Refund Policy
Players who withdraw before February 28, 2025, will receive a refund minus a CAD 10 administration fee. No refunds will be given after this date.
This tournament is an excellent opportunity for pickleball players to test their skills and enjoy a competitive but low-key atmosphere ahead of the BC Provincial Championships.
