The City of Hamilton has announced that the new pickleball courts at Confederation Beach Park will open on May 3. These courts are part of the city’s effort to meet the growing popularity of the sport, which has been gaining traction among people of all ages.

How to Play and Reserve Courts

Pickleball combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Played on a small court, the game allows singles and doubles players to use strategy and positioning to score points up to 11. The sport is known for being fun and accessible to players of all skill levels.

There is no fee to reserve a court, but players must book a one-hour gameplay slot in advance via the city’s website. Players should bring their own racquets and balls, as nets will be provided.

Tournament Requests

In addition to casual play, locals can also request pickleball tournaments at Confederation Park. These events can be scheduled on select dates from June to October. Those interested can submit a tournament rental request form on the city’s website for consideration.
