CourtX Pickleball Complex Opening: A new, nearly 100,000-square-foot pickleball and padel facility is set to open in Oakville, which will be the largest indoor facility of its kind in the world. The new CourtX complex, located at 226 Wyecroft Rd, will open in the coming weeks, offering 10 padel courts and 9 pickleball courts.
Features of the Facility
The facility will also include a fitness area, a yoga studio for classes and activities, and a spa and social lounges. Mo Shahin, the director of CourtX, emphasized that the company chose to design a space that encourages relaxation and socialization in addition to sports. “We consider ourselves the largest in the world in terms of indoor combined pickleball and padel,” Shahin stated.
Why Oakville?
Shahin explained that Oakville was chosen after thorough research, citing the area’s high interest in these sports. He said when the project began, there was little competition nearby, but growing demand from Oakville, Halton, and Peel regions made the location ideal. Shahin believes the facility will meet the needs of nearby communities, including Burlington, Milton, and Mississauga, which are all within a 20-minute drive.
Opening Plans
A soft opening for the CourtX facility is planned for May 16. While some features of the building, like the food and beverage area, may not be fully operational, all courts will be available for use. Shahin stated that the first few months will focus on encouraging people to try the facility, with a grand opening scheduled for September when all amenities will be ready.
Pricing and Future Plans
The pricing for the facility has yet to be announced, but it will be available soon. Shahin added that they are working to have a restaurant or coffee area ready by the grand opening in September.
