Central East Ontario Pickleball Tournament: The YMCA of Central East Ontario raised $15,391 during its second annual pickleball tournament held on Saturday in support of the Strong Kids Campaign. The event took place to help children and families in need get access to YMCA programs and services in the local community.
Big Wins On and Off the Court
Team Pearce raised the most money, collecting $7,947. Team Hamblin followed with $5,894. The top individual fundraiser was Lindsay Seabrooke, who brought in $2,450. Team Pearce was also named the tournament winner and received the Golden Pickle award.
The fundraiser also marked the beginning of the YMCA’s 2025 Strong Kids Campaign. The Kinsmen Club of Peterborough gave the first donation, adding $5,000 to kick off the effort. The campaign continues throughout the year to support families who need help paying for programs.
