Dorval Unveils Free Summer Pickleball Courts: The City of Dorval has opened six new outdoor pickleball courts for the summer season at the Westwood Sports Centre, located at 750 Thorncrest Avenue. These courts will be available from June 16 to August 10, 2025. Players can enjoy the game Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Use of the courts is free, and no registration is required.
How the Courts Will Operate
The new courts are set up on the concrete surface of the Westwood Sports Centre rink. Nets will stay in place all season, but players must bring their own paddles and balls, as no gear will be provided.
Use of the courts will follow a first-come, first-served rule. If the courts get too busy, an on-site attendant will make sure everyone gets a chance to play by using a rotation system every hour.
These new courts add to the four outdoor courts already available at the Surrey Aquatic and Community Centre in Dorval, giving residents more options to play.
A Growing Spot for Pickleball
The City of Dorval continues to expand opportunities for active living. With more places to play pickleball, people of all ages now have more ways to stay fit and social.
By placing the new courts in an existing space and offering free access, the city hopes to make it easy for anyone to enjoy the game during the warm summer months.
