Bradley Park Pickleball Court: The town of Moosomin will officially open a brand-new pickleball court at Bradley Park on Tuesday, July 1, as part of its Canada Day celebrations. The court will open to the public at 1:00 p.m., giving residents a fun new way to stay active.
A Fun, Affordable Activity for All
The new court is part of Moosomin’s goal to give people more affordable and enjoyable ways to spend time outside. Moosomin Recreation Director Mike Schwean said the department wants to make sure everyone in the community can take part in fun, healthy activities.
“We’ll have a fun day out at Bradley Park, a barbecue, so we’re excited about that. The nice thing about these facilities is, for the most part, they’re all free for the community to use. The pickleball court’s a little bit of a fee, but not bad. I think as a department, we understand that some people are squeezed a bit for money, so we made a real conscious effort to make sure there are some leisure activities they can partake in without costing them an arm and a leg!”-(Mike Schwean).
Supporting the Community With Play
Mike Schwean said offering easy-to-access services is a big part of what the town’s recreation team does.
“Our motto has always been ‘play for all,’ so these are important facilities for our department to offer up to the community.” -(Mike Schwean)
By opening the court on Canada Day, the town hopes more people will try the game and use the court in the future. Other park events like a barbecue and live music will add to the day’s fun, giving families even more reasons to come out and celebrate.
