Carleton University’s men’s and women’s soccer teams will host the first-ever Ravens Paddle Battle, a varsity-led pickleball tournament, on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Rideau Sports Centre. The event invites alumni, athletes, local businesses, and the public to participate in a fun competition for a cause.
All proceeds from the tournament will support Carleton Ravens varsity soccer operations, including training, travel, equipment, and leadership programs for student-athletes. Teams of two can register for $250, with options to compete in either competitive or recreational divisions.
A Day of Sport and Community
The pickleball event will kick off with a Lunch Social from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., giving participants a chance to connect before the matches begin. Tournament play will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Players can look forward to friendly competition and community-building, as the event aims to bring together people who care about varsity sports and student development.
Making an Impact Through Sport
Funds raised will directly benefit Carleton’s varsity soccer programs, helping student-athletes access better resources and opportunities. The tournament is part of a broader effort by Carleton Athletics to engage the local community while promoting the growing sport of pickleball.
By organizing the Ravens Paddle Battle, Carleton’s soccer teams are creating a new tradition that blends sport, fundraising, and fun.
