Pickleplex Social Club Cambridge Opening: An indoor pickleball facility is coming to Cambridge, Ontario, as Pickleplex Social Club plans to open a new location in the old Peavey Mart building in Galt. A company representative confirmed the opening is expected by fall 2025.
The new facility will transform the vacant retail space into a dedicated spot for pickleball lovers of all skill levels and backgrounds.
Pickleplex Expands to Cambridge
Pickleplex Social Club is Canada’s largest and fastest-growing network of pickleball facilities. The brand started as a small passion project but quickly gained momentum.
According to the company’s website, “Pickleplex was born from a simple love for pickleball and a big dream to create a place where everyone—no matter their background or skill level—has a place to play on the court.”
Pickleplex currently operates in Barrie, Belleville, Pickering, and Windsor. More locations are planned for Thornhill, Vaughan, North York, Oshawa, and now Cambridge. The Barrie site also opened in a former department store, once home to Sears.
A New Chapter for the Old Peavey Mart
The Peavey Mart in Galt closed in September 2023 after 24 years of serving the local community with farming and automotive supplies. Originally known as Tractor Supply Company (TSC), it was purchased by Peavey Industries in 2017.
Following financial trouble, Peavey Industries received creditor protection and closed all 90 of its Canadian stores. Now, the former store will get new life as a recreational hub.
