The Town of Milton began work this summer to convert the existing basketball court at Bristol District Park into outdoor pickleball courts. The new facilities, located at 920 Kennedy Circle, are expected to be ready for public use in the fall of 2025.
Park Upgrades Underway
The project aims to expand access to pickleball in the community. During the construction, the current court area will be closed. However, other features of the park will remain open.
Town officials reminded visitors to avoid the construction zone and stay safe while using the rest of the park.
For those wanting to play basketball, other outdoor courts are available at Ford Neighbourhood Park on Leger Way, Coates Neighbourhood Park South on Bolingbroke Drive, and Cobban Neighbourhood Park on Whitlock Avenue.
Details of the New Courts
When complete, the upgraded pickleball courts will include high-quality features like sports court fencing with windscreens, bright acrylic-colored surfaces, clear line markings, permanent nets, and sports lighting to support evening play.
This project is part of Milton’s efforts to support the growing interest in pickleball and provide new spaces for recreational activities.
A Step Forward for Pickleball in Milton
The addition of new courts will give players more places to enjoy the fast-growing sport. With modern features and safe surroundings, the new facility is expected to bring more people into the game, from beginners to experienced players.
As the sport grows in popularity, the Town of Milton continues to invest in public spaces that promote fitness and community connection.
