Rock the Pickle Serves Up Exclusive Beginner Pickleball Lesson—Limited Spots to Support Melanoma Canada

Rock the Pickle Beginner Pickleball Lesson: Rock the Pickle, a celebrity pickleball fundraiser, will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Port Carling Community Centre. The event supports Melanoma Canada and will include games, breakfast, a gala, and more, helping raise money for skin cancer awareness and prevention.

The day starts at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast and fun matches played by celebrities. Competitive play begins at 10:30 a.m. with duos and quads, where teams will compete in at least three round-robin matches. The action unfolds at various lakeside homes across Lake Rosseau and Lake Joe, offering scenic courts for players and fans.

A Mix of Sports, Stars, and Charity

This is the second year of Rock the Pickle, which combines sports, entertainment, and giving back. Net proceeds from the event go to Melanoma Canada. The funds support skin cancer education, sun safety programs, and mobile outreach efforts like the Mole Mobile.

Famous names in this year’s lineup include actor Kim Coates, TSN broadcasters James Duthie and Lindsay Hamilton, and professional golfer Rory Sabbatini. Their presence is expected to bring more attention and support to the cause.

“Partnering with Melanoma Canada allows us to harness community spirit and sport for a meaningful cause,” said Joel Hock, event producer and CEO of Solutions With Impact. “Last year’s success motivates us to raise even more awareness and funds this August.”

A Full Day of Fun and Fundraising

The official event schedule is packed with activity. After check-in, breakfast, and celebrity games at 8:30 a.m., tournament play kicks off at 10:30 a.m. Semifinals and finals will take place at 3:30 p.m.

At 6:30 p.m., the Pickle Ball Gala begins, featuring cocktails and dinner. An awards ceremony follows at 8 p.m. The day wraps up with a party from 9 to 11 p.m., giving players and guests a chance to celebrate.

Anyone who wants to join can sign up now. Teams must raise at least $2,500 (for duos) or $4,000 (for quads) using the DonorDrive platform.
