Dauphin Pickleball Club Tournament Highlights: The Dauphin Pickleball Club hosted its fourth annual tournament on Saturday at the Curling Club inside the Parkland Rec Complex. The event, originally planned for Meadowlark Park, was moved indoors due to bad weather. Players from across Manitoba and Saskatchewan competed in both competitive and recreational divisions.
Tournament Highlights
In the competitive division, Brad Dubek and Gerry Beaudette claimed first place after defeating Craig Zamzow and Kevin Fisher in the final. Dominic Gamache and Kent Wieb secured third place.
The recreational division saw Peter Schellenberg and Lisa Shwetz take the top spot, followed by Ruth Cordonier and Dawn Aberson-Risley in second, and Barry and Bernice Boyechko in third.
In the consolation division, Joe Healey and Andrew Janz placed first, Rae Kujanpaa and Dave Duncan finished second, and Arlene and Gerard Osicki came third.
Strong Turnout and Community Spirit

Gamache also spoke about the sport’s appeal.
“It has a unique set of rules that levels the playing field. Young and old, it’s a lot easier on the joints as well,”. “It’s a sport that can be enjoyed by just about everybody.”
Encouraging New Players
Gamache encouraged newcomers to join the Dauphin Pickleball Club, which regularly welcomes new members.
