Serve for a Cause: Skaha Hills Pickleball Tournament Rallies Penticton for Mental Health in 2025

Skaha Hills Pickleball Mental Health Tournament: The Skaha Hills Pickleball for Mental Health 2025 tournament will take place from August 29 to August 31, 2025, at the South Main Drop-In Centre in Penticton, British Columbia. Registration closes on August 21, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. PST, and costs CAD 80.00 per player.

Supporting Mental Health in the Community

This tournament is a Pickleball Canada sanctioned event and will raise funds to support mental health services in the South Okanagan Similkameen Region. All proceeds will go toward local programs. Players will receive a tax donation receipt from the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) as part of registration.

Participants may also pre-order the official event t-shirt titled “I’m Broken, I’m Okay” through an online store.

Tournament Format and Events

The competition will feature men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles. Matches will be divided into four skill levels (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5+) and two age groups (any age and 55+).

The format will be round robin games to 15 points (win by 2). The top four teams from each group will move on to playoffs. All medal matches will be officiated by referees.

The daily schedule is as follows:

  • August 29: Men’s Doubles

  • August 30: Mixed Doubles

  • August 31: Women’s Doubles

Registration and Requirements

Registration opened on July 3, 2025, and closes on August 21, 2025. Teams must ensure that both players are registered and fees are paid within five days to secure a spot. If this is not done, the team will be moved to the waitlist.

Players must have a Pickleball Brackets profile linked to their Pickleball Canada Organization number (PCO#). Ratings for registration will be based on the Canadian Tournament Player Rating (CPTR) system, while results will count toward both CPTR and DUPR.

The tournament director reserves the right to adjust teams’ divisions, scoring formats, or age groups to balance competition.

Accommodations and Amenities

Players and guests can book discounted accommodations at the Sandman Hotel Penticton until August 15, 2025, using a special group code. Food and refreshments will also be available for purchase on-site throughout the event.

Refund Policy

Refunds are available for withdrawals before August 21, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. PST, minus a CAD 15.00 administration fee. No refunds will be given after the deadline. Refunds will also not be issued in cases of bad weather, wildfire, smoke, or public health cancellations.
