Capilano Mall Pickleball Court Opening: A new indoor pickleball facility is set to open this fall in the old Sears store at Capilano Mall in North Vancouver. Fairgrounds, which operates six pickleball locations in Ontario, will launch its first Vancouver-area location with 12 indoor courts, a lounge, coaching, and events.
Facility Features and Offerings
The new Fairgrounds facility will let players book courts by the hour or through a monthly membership. It will include a lounge with food, drinks, and seating. Pickleball coaching and clinics will be offered for those looking to improve their skills.
The facility will also host pickleball parties, member mixers, and brand pop-ups. On-site, Fairgrounds will sell pickleball gear and clothing. Existing Fairgrounds locations in Ontario are known for bright, minimalist designs, and a full court costs $40 per hour to book, according to the company website.
Expansion to Vancouver
Expanding to Vancouver marks an important step for Fairgrounds. Co-founder Drummond Munro said,
“We believe in the power of racket sports to create meaningful connections, support wellness, and bring people together across generations.
Capilano Mall’s dynamic community and the incredible energy of the North Shore make it the perfect home for our first Vancouver location.”
Fairgrounds had originally planned to open at CF Pacific Centre Mall in downtown Vancouver last year, but those plans did not move forward.
Why This Matters
The new Fairgrounds location brings more indoor pickleball options to North Vancouver. With coaching, events, and modern facilities, it aims to attract players of all ages and skill levels. The opening is expected to create a hub for socializing, wellness, and recreational sports in the area.
