Bea Fisher Pickleball Fundraiser Tournament: The Bea Fisher Group of Companies is preparing for its second annual pickleball tournament on October 4 and 5 at the Servus Sports Centre in Lloydminster. The event, partnered with TD Bank, will raise money to buy a specially equipped van for people with mobility challenges. Registration costs $40 per player.
The van will help the non-profit organization provide transportation so adults with disabilities can continue their daily activities and remain active in the community.
Tournament Details
The two-day competition will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Teams of two players can join, and divisions are open to all skill levels. Saturday will include mixed competitive, mixed intermediate, and beginner categories. Sunday will host men’s and women’s competitive and intermediate divisions.
Food and drinks will be available, including a beer garden. Fundraising activities will also take place in the OTS room at the sports centre.
Growing the Event
Organizers say they have expanded the tournament this year.
“We’ve added a few more divisions this year, but the primary goal is to help bring people out to develop the sport of pickleball and raise some funds for the van we’re hoping to buy,”
said Kim Crockett, marketing and business development coordinator at the Bea Fisher Group of Companies.
Why It Matters
The event combines community fun with a meaningful cause. By supporting the fundraiser, players and spectators will help provide safe transportation for adults with disabilities. The registration deadline is Thursday, September 25, at noon.
