Calgary Gears Up for FALLing for Pickleball: Exciting Tournament Promises Thrills, Prizes, and Community Spirit

The FALLing for Pickleball Tournament will be held on September 13-14, 2025, at YYC Pickleball, 1108 53rd Avenue NE, Calgary, Alberta. Hosted by Martin Gajardo, the two-day event welcomes beginner and intermediate players. Registration is open until September 9, 2025, with fees ranging from CAD35.50 to CAD55.95 per player, payable as a team.

Tournament Format and Events

The tournament follows a set partner pool play format with a single elimination bracket for playoffs. Competitions will include:

  • Saturday: Beginner (2.5-2.99) Men’s and Women’s Doubles, Intermediate (3.0-3.49) Men’s and Women’s Doubles, Advanced (3.5+) Men’s Doubles

  • Sunday: Beginner (2.5-2.9) Mixed Doubles, Intermediate (3.0-3.45) Mixed Doubles, Intermediate Men’s Singles (3.0-3.6)

Each player must have a DUPR or club-assigned rating within the division. Doubles teams must either have both players within the range or have an average rating within the range. Players may play up but cannot play down. Non-rated players may participate after a recommended club rating session.

Rules and Bracket Details

Matches will be conducted in a set pool round robin format, leading to playoffs. The tournament director reserves the right to combine, modify, or cancel skill levels or events depending on registration numbers. Winners in each category will receive prize packages sponsored by local partners.
