Smash for a Cause: Pickleball.with.Purpose Rally Unites Waterloo Wellington for Dementia Care

Pickleball.with.Purpose Dementia Fundraiser: The Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington is hosting Pickleball.with.Purpose, a charity pickleball event, on Saturday, October 18, from 1–5 p.m. at Corte KW, 401 New Dundee Road, Kitchener. The tournament aims to raise funds to support local families impacted by dementia.

Event Details and Participation

Twenty-five teams, each with four players, will compete in a fun and competitive afternoon of pickleball. Team registration costs $400, or $100 per player, with all proceeds staying in Waterloo Wellington to fund programs and services for people living with dementia and their care partners.

Purpose and Impact

Michelle Martin, CEO of the Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington, said,

“This tournament is a chance to enjoy one of the most popular and fastest-growing sports while making a meaningful difference. By joining us on the courts, you’re not only playing pickleball – you’re helping build a more compassionate and supportive community for those living with dementia.”
