Royal Westcourt Showdown Kicks Off CNPL 2025 Pre-season on March 8

Royal Westcourt Showdown Kicks Off CNPL: The 2025 Canadian National Pickleball League (CNPL) season begins with the Royal Westcourt Showdown on March 8 at the Royal Westcourt Social Club in Dollard-Des Ormeaux, Quebec. This event, a key pre-season tournament, welcomes players of all levels and offers a pathway for top competitors to join CNPL teams.

Exciting Format and Competitive Opportunities

The Royal Westcourt Showdown features a team-based format where participants register in groups of four (two men and two women) or individually to be assigned a team. Matches will follow a rally-scoring system, with two mixed doubles and two doubles matches played to 21 points.

The tournament consists of two stages: a round-robin phase with six pools of five teams, followed by bracketed playoffs. Each team is guaranteed five matches, ensuring ample playtime.

With only 30 team slots available, registration is filling quickly, and players must sign up by March 1 to secure their spot. The cost is $400 per team, or $100 per player. Volunteers for scorekeeping are also encouraged to participate by contacting CNPL organizers.

Pathway to the CNPL Draft

Beyond competition and prizes, the tournament serves as a scouting ground for CNPL teams. Strong performances could lead to selection in the CNPL Draft, set for April 2 on the league’s YouTube channel.

Anticipation Builds for an Action-Packed Season

The Royal Westcourt Showdown is the first of three pre-season events leading into the 2025 CNPL season, which officially begins in May. Fans and players are eager to see emerging talent and established competitors take the court. As excitement builds, the event promises to set the tone for an action-packed season ahead.
