On April 9, 2025, the Vancouver Rush alumni gathered at the Pacific PB Center in Richmond for a spirited practice session in preparation for the charity challenge.
They were joined by sports veterans from across the region, including former Canucks players Nathan LaFayette, BJ MacDonald, Dean Moore, and John Craighead, along with BC Lions alumni Mike Crumb, Sean Millington, Tommy Europe, and Tanya Henderson, the CFL’s inaugural female coach. Also in attendance were Whitecaps alumni Bobby Lenarduzzi and Carl Valentine.
The session allowed the athletes to hone their skills and prepare for the upcoming challenge. Vancouver Rush alumni stepped up as coaches, guiding the group through the practice.
A Day of Pickleball and Charity
The Pickleball Charity Challenge will take place on June 7, 2025, at the Richmond Country Club. Teams made up of Vancouver’s most well-known athletes and pickleball enthusiasts will compete to raise funds for several local causes, including Canuck’s Place, Heads Up Guys, Rick’s Heart Foundation, and the Whitecaps’ charity of choice.
