Promoting Sports Tourism
Viraj Singh, Secretary of the J&K Pickleball Association, emphasized the importance of pickleball for tourism.

Building a Strong Foundation
While the goal is to host major tournaments in the future, Singh stressed the need to build a strong foundation.

“This will mirror successful initiatives in other parts of the country and pave the way for larger-scale events.” – (Farid Singh)
Inclusivity is also a focus for the J&K Pickleball Association.
“We need infrastructure and courts to identify talent across the state.” – (Viraj Singh)

This effort aims to involve underprivileged and differently-abled individuals in the sport. Farid Singh noted,
“Pickleball is a sport for everyone—children, parents, even those over 50 who are passionate about sports. Our goal is to build a community and connect people through the sport.” – (Farid Singh)
“We’re not just focusing on a specific age group. Our events aim to bring everyone together, creating a sense of belonging through pickleball.” – (Viraj Singh)
A Promising Future
The achievements at the IPA Nationals signal a promising future for pickleball in Jammu and Kashmir. With continued support from the government and local organizations, the region is well-positioned to enhance its sports tourism appeal.
