A Stunning Performance in the Final
The tournament took place from January 23 to 26 and showcased many talented players. Mukherjee delivered an impressive performance in the final, defeating Ravi in straight sets with scores of 11-9 and 11-3.
Earlier, Mukherjee reached the finals by beating Gujarat’s Punji Rawal (DUPR 3.757) in the semifinals, winning decisively with a score of 15-6.
Ravi’s Journey to the Finals
Ravi, who secured her spot in the final with a dominant win over 4th seed Himaanshika Singh (DUPR 3.938), had earlier caused a major upset by defeating the top seed, Jagriti Choudhry (DUPR 4.924), in the quarterfinals.
Ravi showcased her skills in the quarterfinal match against Kavya J, winning with a remarkable score of 11-0.
Bronze Medal for Gujarat’s Rawal
Punji Rawal from Gujarat earned the bronze medal, continuing Gujarat’s strong presence in the tournament.
In an exciting third-place match, Rawal narrowly defeated Himaanshika Singh with a score of 15-10. Rawal had also defeated the 7th seed, Anshi Sheth (DUPR 3.575), in the quarterfinals.
A Moment of Redemption for Mukherjee
This victory was especially significant for Mukherjee, as she had previously lost to Ravi in the group stage by a close margin of 11-8. Her win in the final marked a strong comeback and showcased her growth as a player.
