The duo, who entered the tournament as top seeds, defeated Vishal Nishad and Jitesh Nishad in the final.
Jeet (DUPR rating 3.835) and Vivan (DUPR rating 4.327) started strong in the championship match, securing a hard-fought 11-9 win in the first set. They dominated the second set, winning with an 11-4 score.
Their path to victory included an impressive semi-final performance, where they easily defeated Bhavya Kanoi (DUPR rating 3.579) and Syed Faizaan Hussain (DUPR rating 3.641) with a score of 15-2.
Starting Their Journey
Jeet and Vivan began playing pickleball three years ago after previously playing tennis together. “That’s a tough job, but we can manage and do our studies,” Vivan said, expressing their ambition to become professional players.
U-14 Boys Show Dominance
Gujarat’s U-14 boys team also shined at the IPA Nationals, winning the gold medal. Atharva Sheth (DUPR rating 3.886) and Veer Shah (DUPR rating 4.222) won in the final against Kabir Kamra and Yammiv.
The victories of Jeet and Vivan, along with the U-14 team’s success, showcase Gujarat’s strength in youth pickleball and signal a bright future for these young athletes in the sport.
