(SRFDCL) opens tenders to lease a 1,375 sq m plot for outdoor recreational activities. The space—located on the west side of the riverfront, just south of the current sports complex—is being offered with the goal of promoting modern urban sports and community well-being.
A Dedicated Push for Pickleball in Ahmedabad
The move signals SRFDCL’s growing interest in pickleball, a paddle sport combining elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, which has seen a sharp rise in participation across India and globally. The new lease offers a chance to build specialized pickleball courts alongside other outdoor sports like box cricket, with the focus on creating a vibrant recreational zone accessible to all.
“This initiative aims to further enhance sports infrastructure on the Riverfront and promote community wellness and leisure through modern urban sports,” SRFDCL stated.
Competitive Tender Now Open
The base monthly rent for the lease has been set at ₹1.65 lakh, with the final rent to be determined through competitive bidding. The five-year lease/license offers long-term potential for private players or sports developers to create a lively pickleball venue that serves both enthusiasts and beginners.
Interested parties must submit tender applications by July 9, 2025, with tender openings scheduled for July 11 at 12:00 noon at the Riverfront House.
